Here at Lake Rawlings we believe that diving with a buddy is always your smartest and safest choice. The fun meter goes up fast when diving with a buddy. For a variety of reasons all the major dive-training organizations recommend buddy diving and this is the policy here at Lake Rawlings.
Your buddy assists you with things like planning the dive, putting on and checking your equipment before the dive, helps remind you to check your depth, time and air supply limits, and provides emergency assistance in the unlikely event you need it. They are also there when you share that once in a lifetime sighting of the rare Clown Anglerfish or a Squat Lobster.
Hopefully it goes without saying that you do the same for your buddy. With a proper buddy system, you both benefit in terms of convenience, safety and fun.
Diving is a social activity, so the buddy system is more than one of diving's safety rules - though it is that. You may be surprised how many new friends you meet through diving and the buddy system.
Note that work on and around the pavilions continues as we improve our infrastructure so please watch your step until we are finished. There are still a couple pavilions yet to complete and we hope everyone can enjoy the extra assembly space we have created.
Please remember that pavilion use is by reservation only; with the sponsoring dive shop always having priority and prior reservation. If you are looking to bring your group down and would like to use one please call the dive shop the day prior or inquire at the time you check in to see what is available.
See you at the lake!!
